16 week old son, symptoms of GERD,no dr will see him?
Ok,none of the pediatricians in this area will see a baby without insurance. My son is exhibiting EVERY symptom of GERD. Is there anything I can do about this on my own? We have a pending medicaid case, but no doctors in this area will even see them with a pending medicaid case. It’s a "pay up front in full or don’t be seen". Should I just start buying the formula for that, and try it out,and see if he takes to it well? I’m not sure how long my case is going to take to process, and he’s spitting up at EVERY feeding, and eating less. He’s also teething. He’s spitting up a LOT though. Any advice here? Should I buy the formula (ie enfamil AR or something) and try that out until he gets in to see a dr?

Check out the link that I have provided. There are some other tricks to try. I was reading up on this and it says that babies usually out grow it, so that is a good thing to hear. I don’t think it would hurt to try enfamil AR but make sure that you take him to the doctor as soon as you can. Im from Canada and I just find it crazy that you cant just walk into a doctors office or hospital at any time and that you have to pay for it. That is crazy. I have never paid to get anything done at the doctors or hospital.
Good Luck with everything.

Call the Shriners. They will help with no cost to you. They are in the phone book.
You can also take your baby the nearsest county hospital right away, they will not ask you to pay first. Don’t wait. The baby will be dihydrated quickly and that could be fatal. Go now.
A county run hospital will not and can not turn you away. You will have to go to the ER and wait and be prepared to wait for quite awhile. You can also try calling a county run Health Department Clinic if available in your area. You might be able to get in there.
If he is teething, try some Anbesol or other numbing gel on his teeth before you give him the bottle. It might really help.
i dont know what GERD is, but if the baby is spittin up, enfamil AR may help…. (walmart makes the same kind by parents choice 1/2 price)
why is your medicaid taking so long? this has been goin on for some time!!!
regardless, take your baby to the ER. they wont make you pay up front. and if your medicaid gets sorted out within the next 90 days, they will pay for that bill.
