I am experiencing the belching and discomfort in the stomach, but not the symptoms of heartburn. Just the sour stench when I belch. It also causes nausea at times. I have tried baking soda water, antacids, and eating bland foods, but nothing seems to work to alleviate this problem.

Okay, lately just doing the simplest of physical tasks has been making me feel slightly sick to my stomach and giving me chest pains in the center and left/center area of my chest. I’ve been on Prilosec for months now and have recently been inactive for about two months because of an injury. The pain seems to accompany an increase in burping as well. I was wondering if this sounded more like a heart or GERD problem.
Had a clean stress test about three months ago.

My sister was diagnosed with GERD recently, but now she is being told that she has to get a biopsy, because she may have been misdiagnosed and has a good chance of having cancer. Her doctor also told her that if she does have cancer that it would be a death sentence, I need to know if that is true.

About an hour ago I took two tylenol and an antibiotic I was prescribed for my root canal and now I’m having heartburn. I have taken two rolaids and drank a glass of milk and it still hasn’t gone away. Did the combination of medicine cause it? And is there anything else I can do to stop the heartburn?

I havn’t been able to eat recently because of a huge anxiety attack, and anytime I eat I get very gassy in the upper abdomen with heartburn. I’m just a very nervous person. Could the anxiety be causing this? Or could I be over-producing acid because of not eating much for 2 weeks?

Is it ok to take Cimetidine tablets which are heartburn relief pills you get at the store with alcohol?
Its mainly from the food I like and eat all the time (hot and spicy stuff pepperoni pizza, buffalo wings hot salsas pepper and soda pop) and not quite as much alcohol

I can’t eat fruit or anything with caffeine, nothing acidic at all…. Basically, milk is the only thing that doesn’t aggravate the heartburn. I haven’t been to the doctor for it only because it’s way too expensive. Please, don’t just tell me to go to the doctor because it won’t help. I know I need to but I’m attempting to manage it on my own by taking o.t.c. medicine and stuff. I’m just having a really hard time with food. Any suggestions will help.

I am 30 yrs old suffering from GERD for the past 3 years. I tried PPIs & antacids. PPIs are causing more side effects. If I stop taking PPIs, heartburn comes after 2 hrs from eating.
So I tried ayurvedic treatment for the past 3 months. It also doesn’t work.
I reduced my weight from 87 kgs to 77 kgs. I raised my bed for 6 inches last year itself. I am non alcoholic & taking cooked vegetables for breakfast & taking pomegranate juice
in the evening. Taking dinner at 6:45 itself.
Can any one suggest any natural way or better treatment for GERD?
Thank you.

I have had gerd for years now and will need an operation to fix. I have been unable to find recipes or the right foods to eat to, try to help with the heartburn problems I experience I get severe burning and spit blood and vomit frequently. At least three to four times a week for the past three years. I have cut a lot out of my diet but dont know exactly what I should or should not eat. I have been on several perscriptions and am now taking prevacid tablets twice daily for the past two years.

about a month ago and it helped. The heartburn actually went away. Until now. Do I need to see a G.I. doctor or should i just get another OTC treatment?
I am 27f and this is the 3rd time that it has acted up. It is interfering with my workouts(running/jogging). But, is it just something that people normally live with and treat on their own?
What are the chances that it is something more serious than just heartburn?
Sorry for so many questions.

I am planning on seeing my doctor, but lately I’ve been having trouble falling asleep because of what I think may be acid reflux. The symptoms are very subtle. I have either no heartburn, or very little heartburn. I usually experience the feeling of acid coming up right as I’m about to lose consciousness (half asleep). If I’m laying down fully awake, no problems. It’s only when I’m about to fall asleep. It also doesn’t seem to wake me up when I am asleep.
Also, must an endoscopy always be performed to diagnose this?

I am curious to know if running can be associated with increased heartburn/acid reflux. Lately, I been experiencing it a lot more since I have been running more frequently.
Thanks.
