i had a bad sinus infection and went to the doctors last week. i was prescribed amoxicillin for 10 days. i started taking them last thursday and i’ll be done with them on saturday. i started getting heartburn 3 days into taking them and get it after every meal.
so is it possible for amoxicillin to cause heartburn?
dadnbob: my pill bottle nor the sheet that came with it told me to take with food or a glass of milk.
after i started to get heartburn i decided i should take it with milk but that is not helping very much.

I am trying to buy a bed wedge which are supposedly good for easing heartburn. I’ve read that the minimum recommended elevation is 6-8 inches. The bed wedges come in 8, 10 and 12 inches elevation. It seems to me that the elevation should somehow depend on your height, but I am not sure. I am about 6 ft. Does anyone know which bed wedge is best? Thanks for any help!

I almost never get heartburn. The only food in the world that will consistently give me heartburn every time all the time is oatmeal. I stopped eating it years ago when I found it was the culprit. I even tried it without sugar, cinnamon, or any additives.
Yep, straight up plain oatmeal even only 1/4 of a cup, will give me fierce heartburn.
Why is this? No other food causes this, not one, no meat, fruit or any other grain will cause heartburn.

I have tried Prilosec, Nexium, Zelnorm, and otc antiacids/gas relief. My pH study was 48 when average is about 14. I also look like I’m 5 months pregnant after I eat.
