I am 6 months pregnant, and I have the worst heartburn ever….I have it every night, regardless if I eat or not. I was taking Tums @ one point, but I felt as if I may have been taking them too much. Does anyone have any safe home remedies that may work? Your help will be greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!!

I just went to the hospital , irritated stomach, and the dr. said i had heartburn /"GERD".
What are some good tips…
-meals?
-exercise?

I have heart burn for more than 6 years, if I take medicine it reliefs a bit and if i dont take medicine again it starts burning and food coming to my throat.

I am an otherwise healthy 31 year old woman who suffers from persistent heartburn and horrible indigestion. If I don’t take some sort of acid reducer daily (like Prilosec or Prevacid) I will be in utter hell within 24 hours. As soon as the medication wears off, my stomach and throat are on fire and I have a terrible case of diarrhea! UGH!
- I am not overweight (in fact I am now underweight due to this problem)
- I eat plenty of whole grains and vegetables
- I avoid common triggers like caffeine, greasy food, garlic, etc.
- I exercize regularly
No matter what I eat or don’t eat, the problem is always there. Every doctor I go to just wants to give me another kind of pill or acts like I am overreacting. It is so bad that I have actually fainted from the pain and had to go to the ER, and I am a really tough girl, so that’s saying a lot. Anybody ever had this problem and found a cure? What could be causing this??

and my letter said that they found inflamination in the biopsies they had taken during the test. What does that mean? I called my doctor and they have a machine where you leave a message and they call you back so I was just wanting to know what you all thought until they call me back.
could the inflamination be ulcers?

How long is considered long term GERD? I have been on and off suffering from GERD for about 5 months? My doctor prescribed me prevacid but now I have been feeling like food is stuck in my chest. I don’t have any pain but could this be something more serious? Should I go back to my doctor?

I am almost 13 weeks in my 1st pregnancy and believe that I have experienced my first "heartburn" yesterday I ate spaghetti sauce, and around 4 hours after I threw up, and my chest and throat started hurting a little bit after that. Then before I went to sleep once again I threw up, I’ve been pretty much like that today as well, and my chest hurts, and even swallowing my food makes it hard. What can I do to cure it? Also, when should I be concerned about it?

I think I have an ulcer and usually I don’t get heartburn but recently I’ve had a few bad episodes of heartburn. Could the ulcer be the cause?

I have eaten before a workout. I always eat after a workout. About an hour before I work out I usually drink a protein shake with fruit in it. But sometimes I get heartburn so bad I have to stop in the middle of my routine.

lately, i learnt that im suffering from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), what diet i have to follow?
