The past few months I have been having terrible heartburn, I have tried everything so far from the chemist but dont like all that rubbish inside my body. Do anyone know a natural heartburn cure?

I have been told by a doctor by continuing taking Nexium it is a road to cancer. He has suggested an operation that corrects the problem with a short term recovery. He has claimed he has done several including people over 80 sucessfully. Has anyone had or heard of this type surgery and the sucess rate?
We have done some research and was told these prescription pills can lead to cancer. One Doctor has told us the drug companies will admit this.
We are looking for comments and suggestions and it seems to be common knowledge that cancer could be very likely if a correction of the problem is not taken care of with an operation

I’ve never had heartburn before, and suddenly I felt a cramping sensation in my chest after I had consumed quite a bit of cantaloupe. It lasted about half an hour, a pain burning and running up to my throat (I think that’s heartburn?) I know that acidic foods cause acid reflux/heartburn, but after checking a few websites it says cantaloupe should HELP heartburn. Has anyone experienced heartburn after cantaloupe?

I never used to but now even one piece usually gives me heartburn. I love chocolate so this is quite upsetting. What else could be going on here?

Almost a year ago I started getting pretty bad stomach pain high up just under my rib cage. Soon after I also felt chest pain daily (like a woman in a stiletto standing on my chest). The pain interrupted my daily life. I saw a gastrointerologist and I was told it was just bad heartburn (after many expensive tests). I have been on prevacid, aciphex, and zantac. None of which made it completely go away. Then he suggested it was stress induced. I started seeing a psychiatrist and took xanax and a variety of other anti-anxiety medications. While the heartburn did not go away it was infrequent enough that I could have a normal life again but the side-effects were terrible. I finally stopped all of the meds but the chest and stomach pain (with some nausea) are back. At this point I am lost about what to do. I am not sure if it was anxiety causing the problem to begin with or not. Has anyone had a problem like this before? What should I do to get rid of heartburn?

I like spicy foods, and now that I’m pregnancy I seem to crave it from time to time, my dad and my husband tell me not to eat it, but will it hurt my baby in any way, or is it only based on the discomfort it will cause me in a few hours?

I’m 5′1 170, 24 year old female. I went into Veganism 2 months ago in order to become a healthier person. I eat at 8am breakfast, 11 am lunch 4:30pm lunch, and 11pm other food if im Hungery. I get Acid reflux heart burn every morning at 730am, and at night 11-12am. I work a lot so don’t excercise much, although my schedule does allow it. I work at 1230pm and get off at night. My diet consists of spinach, onion, garlic, lentils, tofu, potatos, spinach, bread. olive oil, tomatoes, nuts, bananas, apples, quinoa. I don’t really snack on things throughout the day, nor do i drink 8 glasses of water a day. I really want to change my lifestyle, and I’m willing to do anything to treat my disorder. Soo i really need help. And I don’t want to go to the ER everytime I have an episode, I don’t have health coverage and it would make me financially drained. Help!

Hey everybody! I ate too many Cheez-itz and then I lied down. Now I have heartburn that is radiating my knee caps. (Haha, don’t you just love Juno?) So anyways, I was hoping maybe someone would have a way that I could quickly get rid of earburnn without leaving my house.

I am nearly 14 weeks pregnant and have only started getting this, i haven’t been sick throughout my pregnancy at all. But this is starting ti make me feel ill in the evenings.

I started out with conjestion and felt like had to constatly clear my throat and panic attacks like i couldn’t breath and then it went to not being able to swallow food choking on the food to extreme heartburn and back pain and burning. now i just have a froggy throat burning sensation in my throat and dry stuffy nose slightly and extreme heartburn and bloated stomach . Can anyone tell me what this is?

I don’t have any other typical hangover symptoms, no headache, no shakes, no sick stomach – nothing – just this incredibly painful, inconsistent pressure that comes and goes like heartburn, but without having eaten anything!! I’ve had it for two days now, it doesn’t matter if it’s before or after meals, morning, noon or night. And yes, I went drinking (rum and coke and whiskey and 7up) both nights…. but not fall-down-pass-out drunk…. just…. "happy" drunk! Any suggestions?!?!

sorry guys, but im suffering from social anxiety and just talking to strangers creeps me out and i just dont wanna make a fool out of myself.

i know i have acid reflux, and its gotten bad to the point where my muscles are starting to ache and im feeling pretty darn sick. So my mom wants me to go in to a walk in tommorow..but the thing is would the doctor think its funny for a person with such a minor? problem such as a gerd to come in for treatment?

and how should i explain it, so that i get the proper treatment?

Since I’ve been taking it, I’ve had heartburn nearly every day. I have an appointment with my doctor in two weeks but am uncertain if I should see someone earlier.

Has anyone here had a bad cough with GERD/Heartburn. How long does it last and how can you get rid of it?

I ask because the health practitioner thinks I may have it, but I have to heartburn…at all.

Lately I’ve been really stressed, and whenever that happens I have indigestion problems and heartburn. My heartburn gets especially bad when I eat plain toast. I thought heartburn was related to acid containing foods?

I have heartburn at 36 weeks and I really want to avoid medication. What foods can help? What foods should I avoid?

tell what the symtoms are…i get a full nauseas feeling,along with a hot feeling face,w/no fever…just feels hot….also seem like i get a cough at night that about makes me vomit,but hardly ever heartburn……does it sound like it to you? what where your symptoms? do you take nexium prilosac or?

My son was born on jan 18th of this year. He was not suppose to be born until april 18 of this year. Which makes him 3 months premie. He was diagnosed with gerd in the hospital. We are giving him zantac and reglan for this. He is always playing with his tongue, grunting, and turning red. Do you think the nutrimigan formula they sometimes give to colic babies will help him seems they think colic could be undiagnosed gerd? His cousin who is the same age as him but was full term does the same thing with her tongue. Could this be a sign?
