I have acid reflux and every now and then it acts up. I am told to take my Nexium when it does this or if I know I’ll be eating food or drinking alcohol that will irritate this.

This doesn’t happen to me often and since I’ve been on the Nexium it’s been controlled pretty well but I am wondering if these sporadic outbursts are bad for me in that they could lead to some kind of more serious medical condition or disease.

Yeah, my doctor diagnosed me with GORD is that GERD? Anyway, I am taking Nexium for it. I am having a flare-up for the past 4 days. I think it was the juicing that triggered off my symptoms again! I was doing OK for a month and then I went onto juicing and it started up. I think I have to wait for it to die down and take good care of myself. I am exercising (trying to lose a few pounds) and eating relatively healthy now. I didn’t eat unhealthy to begin with but my diet could do with a bit of changing. But I have to stay away from acidic/spicy foods and drink. I can’t drink coffee anymore (I used to) and I can’t drink wine (I used to) and I can’t eat whatever I want to anymore! Sucks a bit I guess but I’ll get used to it. My stomach is still burning slightly but I do have PMT can that also contribute? Might huh! Right before I get my cycle my body plays up. I am a 28 year old relatively healthy female.

This has happened to me twice4 already and I’m sure it’s from advil.

I am having heartburn like crazy. however i cant afford to keep buying TUMS. I was wondering if ther was a natural way to get rid of heartburn. And i get heartburn with just about everything that i eat not just certain things. any suggestions????

The other night (like an idiot) I drank alot of Captain Morgan and Diet Coke with lime. I woke up in the middle of the night with heartburn and a feeling like something was stuck in my throat. After I woke up that morning it went away. That night I had Lasagna with meatballs and sauce, and it came back. Now its the next day and I still have the burning and stuck food sensation. I’ve been eating tums which helps a little, but anything I swallow irritates it right away. I’m 45 and I don’t drink like that. I feel like I did some damage or am I just getting old! Any suggestions???

I have been using Prilosec for the last 5 years after being diagnosed with GERD. Seemed to work great for a long time, now I still have acid reflux and I’m worried about the long term use of this stuff.
My Dr. says its fine to use. At the same time, I’m living everyday with chronic fatigue,daily headaches that turn to migraines,feeling miserable,aching everywhere- on top of that now sinus tachycardia and heart problems. Then I’m told well I have Fibromyalgia.
Ok, Randomly today I happen to run into 2 older ladies that flat out said, don’t use that Prilosec as I was in the CVS isle buying more.
One said she almost died from long term use of prilosec and for years had anemia and her iron was depleted. I’m scared now and would like to know if I can stop Prilosec suddenly and completely without withdrawl symptoms? The box says do not stop treatment.
That is for a 14 day dose. I’ve been taking it for years and now I’m worried.
Could using this for years have made my fatigue worse and feeling terrible and the migraines and heart trouble?
Could this have hurt my stomach or damaged anything.
I don’t want to depend on a drug to control acid and the GERD all day.

i have heartburn and acid reflux daily…it started out at night but happens in the day now. I tried prilosec otc for the 2 weeks that it said..it says you can take once every 4 months..2 days after the 14 day treatment it has returned… during the 14 days i had no problems…

me up in the night gasping for air. I am seeing a doctor about this next week, and i know there are a lot of meds. for it but just wondering if anyone has had better luck with a certain one. Thanks

My baby almost chokes on the acid coming up and I am scared to lay him flat but he scoots down his sleep posiitoner and does not sleep on tummy well, would the swing be a safe option for now
