Hello everyone! I’m 32 weeks pregnant and my first experience with heartburn was at 26 weeks… Although its not too severe, I was wondering if the consistency of it had to do with how much hair the baby came out with meaning a lot of heartburn or a little bit of it, or just having it in general. Just curious. Thanks!

I really want to go get a latte with a friend that is back in town but I know coffee (both decaf and caffeinated) affects GERD.
If I take 2-3 antacids beforehand, will I be okay?

I am 33 years old man i had suffering with throat pain and discomfort during swollowing from feb 12 on words Early monrning i awaken up i have pain in throat then i had tea i got relief from the pain.Day time i driving the vehicle A/c affect my throat is dry and start pain. some time i feel moving some objects my throat.two weaks before i consult with ENT specialit Dr diagnosed GERD and give the medications like Tab Rantac (Glotac)150 mg BD half an hour before food and adviced upto 3 months taken.now I takeing treatment but not relief please give the answer

ive been drinking for a while and never had that feeling. i just started getting that feeling when i drink about 2 months ago. it never had that problem before. the "heartburn" kind of feeling under my chest would come when i drink liquor and when it does, it last for about 15 minutes. then it would go away. and when i keep drinking it will come back about an hour later and would last for another 15 minutes then it would go away again. what causes that pain??

My 1st son didnt have very much hair and I didnt get heartburn except for the last few weeks of pregnancy, but this pregnancy (I am 6 months along) I have had heartburn/acid reflux since the beginning and I am not a person who usually gets heartburn, I was curious about this old wives tale..what are your experiences?

Does anyone get that? I mean, can you get that from heartburn?

I have bad gas right now and I have for two days.. And I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and gastritis. I also most likely have IBS (trust me I’ve done a lot of research, and my mom has it). Can these cause heartburn so bad that you get waves of nausea? It’s like I have burning in my stomach, a cold kind of burning, that stretches up into the esophagus, and it’s just very uncomfortable and every now and then I almost gag from it. Chewing gum for a second helped but soon after I had to spit it out in order to not form too much air in my stomach.

I get this several times a week, but when I was on prevacid (once a day) I felt worse so I just stopped taking meds other than the occassional pepcid when I have bad heartburn. I’ll often wake up with, not rly bad nausea, but a bad appetite, but usually when I eat I’ll feel better until later on. I’ll also have a lot of air bubbles in my stomach, and sometimes pressure pain.
Do any of you with similar health problems get waves of nausea from heartburn, or from the symptoms I desribed? Is there anything I can do about it after taking pepcid?
Even though I have nausea, should I eat something so that the acid has something to break down instead of flowing around in my stomach/esophagus? Or should I wait until I feel better?
I have had a barium swallow, colonoscopy AND endoscopy done and that is how the doctor diagnosed me with "mild" gastroesophageal reflux, a hiatal hernia, and gastritis.
Jenn – I’m so sorry you have the same thing but at the same time I’m glad to hear somebody understands me. Yes I’ve tried ALL of those medications and it might help a TINY bit SOMETIMES as far as the symptoms, but not 100%, if even 75%. I wake up feeling hungry as well and I get really hungry at night b/c I don’t eat after a certain time, and if I do, then I feel sick. Oh, soda, good thing u try to avoid that, it’s really bad for you if u have acid reflux.

Jenn – Great, thanks! Yeah definitely let me know! Endoscopies tell A LOT. When I had a barium swallow done, it didn’t reveal the fact that I have a hiatal hernia.. but the endoscopy did. I wish you the best of luck!

unfortunately after several years of killing my stomach lining with whiskey and painkillers i seem to have developed a consant heartburn condition. could this be an ulcer??
what are some foods that help with these conditions??
AND YES I STOPPED DRINKING AND GOT OFF THE PILLS ABOUT A YEAR AGO. thank you.
