I brush my teeth with a natural toothpaste that has peppermint oil as active ingredient. Soon after brushing I start experiencing severe heartburn. Its awful feeling. I feel the warm acid flowing through my neck and throat. I already have IBS. I read that eccentric coated peppermint oil gels help IBS symptoms. The toothpaste says, "peppermint oil loaded to the max for fresh breath". Please let me know if peppermint oil can irritate the digestive system

I am sick & nauseous all the time so it’s very hard for me to eat. When I finally get myself to eat a real meal, I get stomach pains. I feel SO full after eating 1/2 a plate, I feel like I’m choking and my food is stuck by my chest. Is that what heartburn feels like? I never had these problems before … I’m so annoyed. Any advice or similar feelings? thnx

I’ve been getting heartburn like crazy mainly at night time, but I can’t take tums cuz I feel like I get worse. Is there another way to prevent from having heartburn at night time?? Some people say a glass of coke works does it really?

I have GERD and Barrett’s esophagus. I love warm drinks. I have to give up coffee, cappuccino, tea, (both caf and decaf) and cocoa. What are some warm drinks I could have which would not irritate my esophagus?
I cannot have lemon juice.

How can I get rid of my heartburn?

Im 36 weeks pregnant and I have horrible heart burn. I want to cry.
What can I do to make it go away?

It started at the same time as a major case of heartburn and numbess and pain in all four limbs. That is to say that my arms and legs get so numb that they hurt.

When i take it, it really does help and no doubt that it well heal my esphogus spinical, but after an hour or two i well get heartburn again, but when i take another spoonful of it again immediately the fire of the acid reflux goes away. What could be the cause of this. coiuld this mean that its healing but taking a little bit of time?

I am 25 years old, have recently had an EKG, cholesterol test, and thyroid test. My pulse rate is typically around 88 bpm (because I smoke and have anxiety disorder), but lately it has been fluctuating, capping out at around 134. That was today, after a large meal, and I know that’s normal, but it has now been three hours and my heart rate is still at around 115. I took a warm epsom salt bath about an hour and a half ago. I worked today, and it was a stressful day. In fact, I’m under a lot of stress at work right now. I also have GERD, taking Prevacid (the lower dose). My skin elasticity is a little off, and I have been pounding water almost constantly, cut back SIGNIFICANTLY on caffeine and cigarettes (like to less than half of what I was doing), and my pulse rate seemed to elevate more after I made these changes. My doctor says my heart and lungs are both fine, my thyroid gland is fine, the only things he sees wrong with me are the GERD and a strain in the muscles around my rotator cuffs. Frankly, I don’t have health insurance anymore and I can’t afford to keep going to the doctor, especially since every time I do, I am told the same thing. How persistant should I be? Or could this sudden onset of chronic elevation be simply due to my stress level? Is it pain? Work was very strenuous today, and my strain is also throbbing and very painful. Or is it because it happened once and I keep freaking out about it? Has been going on for about a month now. Breathing is fine, yes I have chest pains, but it’s the GERD as it goes away when I take a Tums, no dizziness, a little cotton mouth, no fainting, yes I have chronic insomnia mostly caused by back pain. By the way, I am not taking any pain medications at all for the back pain due to a history of addiction in my family. I believe it’s just the stress but I could use some reassurance. Sorry for rambling I just need to know what’s going on and I can’t spend another 0 to be told YET AGAIN that they can’t find anything wrong with me. What am I missing?
