Are tomatoes & citrus bad for GERD?

I’ve been having reflux and esophagus issue so I am trying to change my diet. I know that coffee is bad. I am confused by tomatoes/ tomato juice and lemon juice. I know that these are acidic but I’ve read they cause the body to alkalize. What’s the story here? Should I eat these foods in moderation or avoid them completely?

These are definitely acidic and can definitely cause GERD to worsen. I have lived with GERD for 30+ years. I can drink coffee without issues, but red pasta sauces I can’t. It’s all about how your body reacts. Moderation and knowing your own body is key.
