Biggest difference between ulcers and gerd?

Anyone have an opinion on the biggest difference between ulcers and having gerd/heartburn?
Do you think you can make the diagnosis yourself if you had symptoms of heartburn for a longtime?

They are 2 different conditions, and no you can’t make the diagnosis yourself.
The symptoms are the same. Really, only an EGD (where a camera is used to see your actual stomach and esophagus) can make the diagnosis, because it can "see" where the problem actually it.
Otherwise, it’s pretty much a guessing game, and the treatments are the same anyway.
