Can being on the pill cause heartburn?
I’m almost 26 and just started on the pill. I’m in good health, don’t smoke or any of that stuff. I’ve noticed the last couple days I have had heartburn – starts up from the stomach region then goes up the esophagus; doesn’t go all the way to the throat. It’s slightly worse at night. I don’t lie down immediately after eating or anything like that. I was just wondering if possibly being on the pill could cause heartburn? Should I contact my doctor? Or is this just an early symptom and it will go away eventually?

No.
It’s likely something else you have at the same time.
Get yourself checked by your doctor. Hiatal hernias are very common and the symptoms you describe sound like it. They will do tests to find it. I have one that was found in 1993. It’s not bad if you do have one. You can be put on medication to help the heartburn. You’ll have to change the way you eat (not hard) and may need to sleep with your head elevated. They do not do surgery for it due to complications.
