Can GERD also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease cause acne in some people?

   I really can think of absolutely no reason why these two things would ever be related….what caused you to ponder this?
   They just have two completely different sites of action and pathophysiologies……so I would say no.

   Yes it can in certain AIDS cases, Candida infection develops and especially in those being treated with antibiotices, cortocosteroids and immunosuppressive drugs, but occasionally is due to virus (such as cytomegalovirus or herpes virus). All these infection are common in people with AIDS. The are a complication when gastreosophageal reflux disease advances to esophagitis.

   Interesting question, though not common I suppose it is possible. Check back with your GI doctor & ask what they think.
