Can over the counter medications for heartburn affect birth control?
I have been on the pill for a month now, and I know that certain antibiotics and prescription drugs can affect how effective birth control is. I am curious, however, if over the counter meds for heartburn/indigestion can alter the effects? I ask because I take these medications on a regular basis, as I am not able to afford prescription meds for it at the moment, and I want to be absolutely sure it will not interfere with my birth control.
Thanks.

Just for reference, if it need be known, the two over the counter medications I have used for this are Pepcid AC, and Zantac 75 (not together, of course).

No they will not effect birth control. Antibiotics and other forms of prescription medication can effect them. But you are safe with the OTC meds for heartburn.
