Can some antibiotics cause severe heartburn and stomach cramps?

Was on a round of antibiotics (cephalexin) for a bladder infection. Had to quit the meds mid-way through because I got severe stomach cramps and horrible heartburn. I tried it with food, I tried it without food — no difference. One day after I stopped taking it, the stomach cramps and heartburn stopped.

Absolutely they can. You should have consulted with your pharmacist though, before you stopped taking it. Also, I hope you have spoken to your doctor to maybe get a different antibiotic. You may still need something to clear up your bladder infection.
Yes, definitely for the stomach pains. See, the antibiotics also kill the good bacteria- the ones that aid in digestion. Best way to replenish the good bacteria into your digestive track is to eat yogurt.
Imo, cramps are more pressing than they are severe
