Can Tylenol and Antibiotics cause heartburn?

About an hour ago I took two tylenol and an antibiotic I was prescribed for my root canal and now I’m having heartburn. I have taken two rolaids and drank a glass of milk and it still hasn’t gone away. Did the combination of medicine cause it? And is there anything else I can do to stop the heartburn?

Doubtful the two together would cause indigestion. But the antibiotic can since it is not selective when it kills certain bacteria, and often kills friendly digestive bacteria as well. Can take yogurt while you are on antibiotic that will help to replace the flora. Can also take some acidopholis to replace much needed digestive bacteria.
It could have caused it…for the heartburn, I take Gaviscon, you can take up to 16 a day, but i pop 2-4, and Im good for two days!
I used to be on Prevacid, and Im surprised by Gaviscon.
There are some other heartburn meds that may help…look for something that reduces acid. My big concern is whether or not it’s really heartburn. Many antibiotics cause stomach irritation. Check the sheet that came with the meds…it should tell side effects and anything serious to watch for. If there is no sheet, do a web search for the medication…you should find info on it. A lot of times, stomach problems with any meds are cause for concern…so you’ll probably want to call your doctor right away. There’s even a chance you’ll get through to someone tonight. Or, you could even try calling the pharmacy.
probably not, but if u overdose theres a slight possibility
