This morning, I woke up with a scratchy, burning throat and a gagging feeling in my throat, pain in chest and tummy. I’ve been diagnosed with GERD. I take prilosec for it. Here are my questions:

1) Is the gagging feeling caused by my GERD
2) Does GERD last forever?
3) How will my esophagas recover

4) What other things can I do for GERD to help it? Thanks!

I hope this gets some doctors attention. I am only here as a last resort. I have done everything the docs said to do and still no answers. It started with 3-4months of chronic stomach acid. Stomach bloating like I was pregnant.Then I started having muscles spasms in my left chest muscle-then woke up with lack of oxygen and started having an awake seizure-had them for about 2wks everynight while at rest. Lots of dizzyness too. Hard to breathe after eating also. Docs said it was not the heart and not related to stomach issues.Did all heart tests,endoscopy showed esophogus being eaten away some.Nexium helped a lot with acid and problems lessened. Seems that when I eat something to upset my stomach I get arm numbness and sometimes pain in gallbladder. Gallbladder scans were are negitive including bloodwork btw.
Can a hiatal hernia or Gerd cause these crazy awake seizures and numbness? Thanks so much.
I also have to take digestive enzymes that an herbalist gave me. If I don’t take them my stomach still swells up. BTW I am 32 m and in good shape.

Back in April I started having chest pain and trouble breathing. I went to the ER and had a chest x-ray. The doctor told me I had shadowing in the bottom my lungs, and said it might be pneumonia. He gave me antibiotics and told me to get a follow up x-ray with my primary care doctor. I took my antibiotics and went to my primary care doctor who refused to do a chest x-ray, saying I had a simple case of pleurisy.

The pain and breathing difficulties come and go, but two to three weeks ago got suddenly worse. I went to a walk-in clinic and had another x-ray. The doctor there told me I had calcified spots in my lungs, but said they were common and nothing to worry about. She sent a referral to a Pulmonologist, but I won’t get in until September.

Nothing is wrong with my heart, so I assume it’s my lungs. What is wrong with me? I’m so tired of this. I just want to feel better.

My chest pain is in the center and it feels like a crushing kind of pain…like a rock is sitting on my chest. I can breathe small breaths, but I can’t take in deep breaths. It feels like something is stopping me. Once in a while I can take a normal deep breath but it feels very restricted and difficult to do.

I am a 21 year old female, non-smoker. I know this is not anxiety and I haven’t been stressed. Could acid reflux/GERD cause this? I’ve had an endoscopy that ruled it out but I’ve had some burning in my throat lately.
My chest pain and breathing troubles never go away but sometimes they are mild and sometimes severe, and when I try to take deep breaths I get VERY dizzy like I’m about to faint.
I don’t know if this matters or not….but my recent x-ray showed I have Scoliosis. My x-ray in April did not show any signs of Scoliosis at all.
It’s not lupus. My grandmother had it and I was tested for it back in January. I don’t have lupus.
I have been tested repeatedly for Lupus. I know I don’t have it. I’ve watched the signs for it all of my life. These problems are not signs of Lupus.

I have gerd & ibs Ive had this before but it went away for awhile now its back, its uust this dull burning sensation in my chest & stomach, last week my family had stomach flu so my anxiety is high thinking thats whats causeing it…. its been here for the past few days… any ideas? im using an over the counter radintine 2 times a day..

I suffer from acid reflux and as i result i also have esophagitis at this moment in time i have extreme abdominal pain caused by gerd and have read that aloe vera is a natural remedy for this problem but i dont know if you can take it with my antacid medication. Any help i will be extremeley thankful by the way im 18

I’m32 weeks pregnant. I have Gerd really bad. LAst night before I went to bed I know it was acting up. I found my self waking up in the middle night a couple of times because I couldn’t breathe. All day today it felt like I couldn’t breathe right or something. Do u think its somehting eles. I called the doctor he said he never heard of anything like this. So…I feel like I’m about to lose my mind,when I first ask the question everyone was saying about sleep apena. I don’t think I have that,maybe. Have anyone heard of gerd causing people to not breathe in the night

Can other factors play a part like bad posture, not enough movement, mental disorders etc?

ok, i have supraclavicular lymph nodes i can feel. i dont think they have grown. i am 13 years old. i also think i might have GERD because i have heartburn and execissive belching.

anyways, my question is, does anything seem wrong? and can GERD cause swollen lymph nodes?

oh ya and my supraclavicular lymph nodes are not big. under 1 cm/.

Ive been constipated and have acid reflux (along with post nasal drip caused by GERD). Could this cause a coated tongue with tiny (not really painful) bumps toward the tip of the tongue, as well as a whitish/red hard palate? If not then what?

BTW- before anyone suggests it I DONT have thrush.

So i do have anxiety and OCD. which im working on. So about two weeks or so ago, I went to the ER with chest pains, they did blood work, EKG and Xray. All clear, They said I had gerd because it had been my 4th time to the hospital for the same problems. Well the pain has come back, and it doesnt feel like heartburn, just kind of a tightening achy feeling in my breast bone. It comes and goes, and its been like this for the last two days. My sister is also complaining of chest pains. Is it just anxiety based?? I dont feel terribly anxious. But i guess this pain is making me anxious. Should I just relax?? can Gerd cause chest pains that dont feel like heartburn??
