I have acid reflux and it gets pretty severe, However, its gotten so bad lately that sometimes even drinking a sip of water causes chest pain, and this is on an empty stomach. Things that shouldnt aggravate seem to be doing just that.
Stress is the biggest factor in my symptoms not fatty acidic foods as lately ive barely eaten a thing. I was wondering , has anyone had this trouble ? Having pain from something as simple as water? and stress triggering pain.?
I take 80mg of prilosec for this and to be honest it doesnt help much

Sorry it might be long. I want to start at the beginning. I have a 12 month old baby girl. When she was 2 weeks old. She would be vomiting after every feeding. I was breastfeeding at the time has well.
The doctor at the time totally ignored everything at the time. Then she was 1 month the doctor wanted me supplement with formula because of the weight issues. Then again she wouldn’t take the bottle and totally kept on vomiting. Two days after that the doctor admitted her in the hospital. Because of vomiting and not gaining weight. She lost couple of ounces by then They did ultrasound of her stomach to see if there any blockage to see if that was causing the vomiting. Well no it didn’t. We got her to take a bottle. That when she was diagnosed with failure to thrive. She still continue to vomit. A weeks of bottle taking she started to refuse to take the bottle. And I was still breastfeeding at the time. Finally when she was 1 and half month old they try Zantac. Then again it didn’t work. She continue to refuse the bottle and vomiting has well. The doctor didn’t try other medicine. We been admitted two other times in the hospital for failure to thrive, When she was 3 months old I got her a new doctor. We go to Children hospital. Finally they put her on prevacid. Things to start approving some but still had hard time with gaining weight. When she was 4 months old. The doctor said start her on cereal then other foods. At this time she was only gaining weight slowly and still wasn’t going anywhere. The doctor referred her to the GI specialist. My baby would only drink 2 ounces of formula per feeding. May when she was 5 months old we got to see the Gi doctor. When she was 6 months old she gotten a feeding tube. She gaining weight with the feeding tube help. Which we tube feed at night. At this time. We wouldn’t take hardly any baby food and would take 2 ounces at the time.
We are at 12 months old. She still seem to have Gerd. Will she have it all her life. She only eat solids depends on her mood. They move the dosage on the prevacid. The GI doctor wanted her on prediasure. Well let say it not doing to well. She vomiting that up and burping a whole lot when she on the predisure. Also she wouldn’t eat the solid food. And she has a rash with the prediasure. This past thursday and Friday try to get hold of the GI doctor asking them want should we do. They never called back. I am tube feeding her with the left over formula. And she getting whole milk.. Will she has this Gerd rest of her life.

I have a 9 week old little girl. Does anyone else have a baby with colic and GERD? I am on the formula Alimentum because I can’t breastfeed, but it doesn’t seem to help! I have been on: Enfamil which caused major constipation, Nestle – gave her horrible gas, Similac Sensitive and Similac Soy – She didn’t want to eat either and screamed all the time. The Alimentum has calmed her a little, but not much. She is still screaming while eating, having horrible gas, arching her back what looks like in pain, and getting frequent hiccups. I know there is a happy baby in there somewhere! I just really want to find it!

OK it all startes about a week ago. Me and my fiance ate mcdonalds and stayed up all night. Through out the night i had been coughing. but it wasnt cause of a sore throat it was just dry. when it reached 10am my stomache started hurting bad i had like a sour stomache and it cramped. i woke up the next morning with my uvula swollen long wise and i went to the doctors and they told me that I had tonsilitis. That was the reason My uvula swelled up. i was surprised since i had no idea i really went there for my stomache and i was scared the uvula was realted to that. the doctor said that tonsilitis causes you to swallow alot of saliva and that builds up more acid so thats why my stomache was messing up. then they gave me a gi coctail some kinda shot that you drink to coat your stomache and it gets rid of acid…they said that would help out my stomache.. well it didnt not even the second time i took it. now everything i eat hurts me and gives me alot of gas where it hurts and also i have this strong pressure in my chest…and whatever i eat after it gives me a really bad after taste….even sprite….im taking prilosec and maalox but those arent working and im also in antibiotics….nothing is working…i cant eat without being in pain and also i barely use the restroom…my stools are mushy and i dont know what else to do…please anyone help me……my blood pressure is fine so what should i do

Some acid reflux along with lower stomach issues similar to processing a heavy meal that occurs during the night. Also, I have a gas or slight pressure feeling on the lower left side of my abdomen that comes and goes usually after eating. The feeling of being on the verge of nausea comes and goes quite a bit. I definitely can not eat a heavy meal ( hot wings, pizza or spaghettie ) or I will be wiped out the next day and ill.

In the spring, I was put on prilosec for GERD due to a hoarse throat that I though was from allergies or strep. My hoarseness cleared up, but then lower stomach problems have started and escalated. I have noticed feeling better since being on amoxicillin for a week due to wisdom teeth removal. I have since had blood work done but no H Pylori showed up which I think if I had could have been cleared up some by the antibiotics. My fear is I am still not completely well and I don’t want to be on heavy stomach meds forever if there is a curable cause to this. I have been put on Dexilant now and I am waiting on sonogram results to officially come back. The tech said she saw no abnormalities though. I am 36 years old with a family case of colon cancer and diverticulitis in older relatives. I suffered shingles about a year ago and did take Ibuprofen due to breast feeding issues while nursing my daughter ( this was harsh on my stomach ). Other than that I have had good health all my life and one healthy pregnancy

i have asthma and the doctors could not figure out why i was not getting any better in the hospital, well i had pneumonia,and i kept wheezing alot and i had a test done that i wouldnot recommend anyone to have, the test revealed that i had gerd,and i wasnt getting enough air through my windpipe and that was making me wheeze, this problem is getting worse every day, i belch a lot all day every day, i take prilosec otc but it is not helping like it should, i have read that you can have surgery, side effects are, your voice is hoarse, i am willing to give it a try, right now i have burning in mychest, i dont know what i ate this time to cause, getting really frustrated……..please help

i have been experiencing bloating, mild heartburn, sore throat(laryngitis), shortness of breath and i already have i have been noticing that my asthma symptoms are getting some worst.i was taking QVAR 80MCG 2 PUFFS AND IT WASNT WORKING, SO MY DOCTOR PRESCRIBED ME ZANTAC 150MG.SO I WANNA TAKE IT BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF THIS MAY BE WORSENING MY ASTHMA SYMPTOMS.

What are the procedures of having an endoscopy done on my stomach and esophagus to check for stomach ulcers? I am thinking of having my stomach checked to see how bad the acid damaged it. I took omeprazole(prilosec) 20mg twice a day, but had negative side effect. Now I am on Pantoprazole(Protonix) 40mg once a day every morning before I eat and no side effect so far. My ENT told me I had red bumps in my throat due to acid burning through a fibroscope camera. I heard taking calcium carbonate worsens the acid in the stomach is that true? I have to change my eating habits and eat more healthy now. Should I see a gastroenterologist on GERD/acid reflux? Anyone know how I can heal these red bumps in my throat and the acid probably had caused an erosive esophagus on me already? Anyone on Protonix and has it helped with the healing on the esophagus or throat? How do you know if it works or not? I am going to take this for a month just to see if it works or not. Please help thanks.

If i can remember everything occurred one night when i was sleeping and then there was this liquid that came up so fast to my throat and started burning. Now i have red bumps on my throat feels weird and itches but before it was burning and painful. It has been 3 months already since i was untreated. I just started the medicine now on my 2nd day. Can I eat red apples? I can’t eat msg from ramen noodles anymore can I from all the spice in the package? I know I can’t eat fried food anymore either sad hehe. All my favorite foods have to be eliminated from my stomach now. No more McDonalds either or soda or acidity drinks or juices.

I cough so hard that people think I am sick. My lung capacity has been falling since 2009. I have been seen by the doctor with the following results.

Checked for Asthma: Do not have as of 2006 or 2009
CT Scan of Chest: No Lung disease
No new allergies
Left Geographical region from Asia back to East Coast: Still Coughed
X-rays have said Lungs are good

Maybe GERD but not sure: I cough too hard for it not to be something. Its sounds like a dry cough and deep. Has caused me to be light-headed and knocked the wind out of me from time to time when I have an intense coughing spell.

Having little faith because everything comes back negative for any issue or than my Air Function test has diminished.

Any ideas?

hi there, i recently was diagnosed with "Gerd" i went to the docs because i had problems (i don’t know how to put it) to initiate a swallow, this happened because i felt a "something stuck in the throat feeling" so he said i had an infection he gave me MEDS but they didn’t work…well i went back and he sent me to a ENT he said i had acid reflux and gave me medicine (PRISOLIC), but they didn’t work then he said it could be allergies but those didn’t work either, so i got a CT scan of the neck and nothing showed up, so anyways now my doc has me on ZERGARID 40mg 3 times a day, but my question is why does my throat still hurt?, sometimes the pain is by the bottom (collar bone location) sometimes by my thyroid and it moves around, also when i swallow i feel like there are cartilages rubbing on each other, also when my ENT sent a report to my doc i saw something that said (forgive the spelling) laryngeal edema, so my questions are
1.what cures or helps acid reflux if the MEDS don’t work
2.how do i fix my throat?, stop the pain and weird feeling (am also starting to get scared to swallow the food gets stuck by my uvula)
3.whats a laryngeal edema, i looked it up and it said something about the larynx being filled with liquid, could that cause the cartilage feeling?

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST BUT AT TIMES I FEEL LIKE AM DYING I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!!
o and also i constantly have to clear my throat as if i had mucus in there, and i do but i dont know if thats related to the gerd or something else
