I’ve had discomfort and all the symptoms of GERD, gastroesphogal reflux disease the past few weeks, I also slept with a woman 4 weeks ago, unprotected vaginal sex, only lasted 10 seconds, dont have any HIV symptoms but have had severe anxiety because of it the last few weeks, im waiting to test two weeks from now, all other std tests came back negative so im starting to think the woman wasn’t lying about the fact that she was clean, however, the only thing thats scaring me is the GERD, ive had tightness in my chest, heartburn, heart palpitations, acidic taste/feeling in the back of my throat, bloated after eating, I dont know if this is a hernia, im taking meds for it. Going to see the doctor on Wednesday, im scared, I dont want to let my family or friends down, I know my risk of HIV was low, but is GERD caused by onset of HIV, I haven’t found anything on it, probably leading to the fact that its not but I just want to be sure, and if so is it just caused by my stress or anxiety because I have had it so bad, thinking about and researching symptoms everyday of almost every hour for the past few weeks waiting to go get my 6 week test and hopefully get a negative so I can move on with my life, any answers will help, thanks so much!!!

Does anyone else get constant pain with their GERD? If its pain from this I get a constant burning pain that no med takes away even Proton pump inhibitors. What should I say to the gastro? Has anyone else got a sliding hiatus hernia? What are your symptoms? I dont know why my pain isnt going.

well my dad. he has said for about that last four or five years that he feels the presence of a lump in his throat. some days it comes on pretty bad, some days its gone completely. he rarely has any trouble swollowing food. like corn chips sometimes do. he never has any blood in his spit, he has not lost any weight but he went to the doctor and they found a small lump under thyroid on an ultrasound. the doctor didnt even know why he went into the ultrasound and was so supriesed to find the lump UNDER THE THYROID. he still told him not really to worry, but they are going to do a catscan just in case, he hasnt even set a date yet. my dad is 50 and has acid refulux pretty bad, he has hernias. he has all the symptoms of gerd like the acid, the mucis in stuff, they differences in the days and dependancies on what he eats. he doesnt really feel bad. you think that if it was cancer that he would feel bad of having a bad lump for over a year. it really isnt getting much worse. its not cancer

Just last week, I had an endoscopy done and I feel like I have heartburn meaning I have GERD. Although, the doctors said they cant find anything that shows that I have GERD i have all of the symptoms of GERD. my questionS ARE, (1) Is GERD asymptomatic or is it something else? and when I defecate, there is blood in it. (2) so does that mean that I am getting cancer in the esophagus or esophagitis? why do i get blood when I defecate? I am very much confuse with what I have or am getting since the doctors themselves are unable to tell me what it is because they cant tell themselves. plz help, thanx

There are sometimes that when I eat food I can sleep and there are sometimes when I eat i get a strong pain in my chest that i cant sleep and when I brush my teeth i vomit the food that I ate like 8 hours ago. I am leaning towards GERD but oncce again, the doctors cant find anything that says that but i have the symptoms of it so what is it?? please help

I know nothing is impossible, but I just miss the effects of caffeine. I stopped around 2 months ago because of my GERD symptoms getting worse (I was diagnosed with barrett’s esophagus). I use to still drink around 3-5 cups of coffee per day and it would get me mentally stimulated, alert, and more talkative. Now ever since I stopped I feel sluggish, tired, and not being able to talk as much. The good thing is that I do sleep earlier and wake up easier.

Should I just revert to Tea? I want the mental stimulation back again.

ive been having a lot of stomach issues along with me having ibs and gerd too. i do have a hiatal hernia. the doctor said my symptoms resemble gall bladder problems so i had a ultra sound and was scheduled to have a hida scan but my doctor cancelled it. so i was just wanting an opinion why it would be cancelled.

The past 5 days I wake up ok and like 5 minutes later I wake up I feel nauseas then I go vomit I saw the symptoms of GERD but I don’t get the heartburn just like a pregnant women would get morning sickness and just vomit in the morning after I vomit I’m okay I can go on with my day, I dont have a pregnant girlfriend or anything I’m a 16 year old male I am going to the doctors but I need suggestions on what it might be. Thanks. Oh and when I vomit is like acid yellow fluid.
