I ate waayy too much last night, like as in:
3 Sizzlers garlic toasts
a bowl of buttered broccoli
a cheesy sausage on bread
2 cups of milk
and a Snickers ice cream cup.
then went to bed.
So when I woke up I was feeling uber-uncomfortable and randomly decided while brushing my teeth to see if making myself throw some of it up would help(no I’m not bulimic). That didn’t work AT ALL. In fact, since then & all day I’ve had PAINful heartburn that just won’t quit(and it kinda feels like I have a piece of gum stuck in the back of my throat).
I’m at school and there’s no antacids to be found on campus…so how can I get rid of this? Is there a difference between regular heartburn and heartburn caused by vomiting?

My cat throws up his food quite a bit. Sometimes it’ll happen 3 times a day and sometimes he won’t do it for a couple weeks. He gets hairballs too but I know what causes that. What could be the cause of this?
I’m not sure if this is needed but he is a 7 year old male weighing around 20 pounds. He’s always been a big cat so I’m not sure if wieght would be an issue? He’s a little chubby but he’s not round. It’s just his body type.
And what can I do to keep it from happening?
It’s funny now that you mentioned food and the food I have him on right now is the costco brand food and he hasn’t had any problems at all for the last week. I’ll have to keep a mental note of that next time I change food. Thank you.

My doctor suspects I have gallbladder issues, and had an ultrasound today. Everytime i eat I feel like throwing up and of course get the pain under my right breast. Before the pain, I would sometimes get heartburn after eating anything. And if I didn’t eat anything, I would get heartburn late at night. Heartburn used to be a daily thing, but stopped for a while. And then I started having the horrible pains and nausea after eating with no heartburn… He said, it could be heartburn causing my issues, and if not, it’s the gallbladder…so I am just waiting it out for my results…does heartburn usually go hand in hand with any gallbladder issues?
Oh, also, does having a lot of gas go along w gallbladder issues? It’s very abnormal for me lol

severe heartburn?? i know when i eat it, i’m gonna be eating a bottle of tums within minutes but i do it anyway, because its what i want. grapefruit, oranges, extra marinara sauce, hot mustard– i know these things are going to cause me heartburn, but i continue to eat them. you’d think i’d learn my lesson after the first time or two, but oh no– i continue to eat them (isn’t that the definition of stupid, when you continue to do something and get the same result- but expect to get a different result?). anyway other pregnant women do you do that too- eat something you know is going to give you heartburn from hell??

I am 16 years old, female.
I sometimes get heartburn. I got it a ton over the summer and last spring. But I haven’t gotten it in forever. Except once a month or so ago. Now I have it right now and it is causing my chest and jaws to hurt very badly. Its been probably 10 minutes because I don’t have medicine. I was just wondering why it causes jaw pain?

Additional info: This condition has affected me most my life, but has gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. It started when I was around 7 and I am now 24 years old. Almost any uncooked fruit or vegetable gives me heartburn. This includes both highly acidic and highly basic fruits and vegetables (everything from oranges to bananas). The heartburn is incredibly debilitating. Often times, I find myself feeling extremely nauseous and produce immense amounts of very thin saliva.
Most the time, if it is cooked or preserved or frozen, the food does not cause me heartburn.
Also, foods which normally give people heartburn (caffeine, spicy foods, greasy foods, etc.) do not affect me in a negative way.
I am currently taking 600 mg of ranitidine everyday. It helps sometimes, but I can’t really count on it to help all the time.
I really want to get back to eating healthy as I feel the lack of fruits and veggies is taking its toll on my body.
Please help!

Every morning I drink a rockstar…okay 2 rockstars. And by mid morning I have excessive heartburn. I know the logical answer is to stop drinking the Rockstars. But I am not that intelligent nor do I have the will power. I guess the actual question is what is in the Rockstar to make me have heartburn. Is it a specific supplement or vitamin that’s causing it.

I am an Indian, majority of the problems faced by South Asia could be resolved by this merger. The conflict is driven by fundamentalism and ego on both sides. I feel that India may not derive anything major out of this merger and Pakistan can benefit a lot. Pakistan may get economic prosperity but India gets peace and the region as well as the world gets stability. Why the leadership do not provide solutions and harping on the problems only? It’s not the religion that causes heartburn but the jealousness on both countries leadership about other country’s well being.
Some of the answers were not thought thru’, some were written in anger. More than 50 years past, blaming history not going to alter the present. "Whatever" raised questions that were not existent before Partition and answers to those issues can be found. This question is to provoke thoughts among the two neighbours and to invite ideas from others and not to create any aspersions on anyone.
Some one said "Solutions are another dimension to the problem". After all these issues are all man made and I am sure better solutions exist in this world.
Still in this globalised world, we humans talking about territories and fighting to retain or capture it and behave worser than animals. After all animals protect its territory only to ensure its food supply and create its generation.
As a citizen of a country, why many not thinking for the betterment of their country and instead supporting conflicts that brings damage to them, neighbours and rest of the world?
