Acid reflux disease since I was five years old and it got triggerd back April 2009. I was on medication liquid that helped until June when the bottle ran out. I rarely drink soda, and I sleep on my left side. Mashed potatoes and French fries don’t bother me. When I eat alot i get gassey. So what are some yummy foods I can actually eat? And what can’t I eat? Btw when I was a baby I only ate white bland foods, will I have to stick to a bland diet? And chocolate doesn’t bother me, I eat it often and in small bits.. Also I know it is recomended to eat small meals during the day, but in school I wake up at 7 and eat, the eat in school about 12:15. Then when I come home I have a few snacks the super then maybe.a snack after? What can I do to relive my stomach and reduce the heartburn.. And sorry for typoes I’m on my iPhone. Tha is sooo much guys.

I’ve been having reflux and esophagus issue so I am trying to change my diet. I know that coffee is bad. I am confused by tomatoes/ tomato juice and lemon juice. I know that these are acidic but I’ve read they cause the body to alkalize. What’s the story here? Should I eat these foods in moderation or avoid them completely?

The first doctor said I probably just have asthma causing it, but what do you think? Why the heartburn? I avoid all spicy foods so it’s not that.

I am 25 years old and have been diagnosed with GERD and Dyspepsia (1 year ago). I’ve had an upper GI Endoscopy and a pH Bravo test. Two years ago I was also tested for pH Pylori and it was positive so I got a 14 day traetment.
Currently I have been taking 2 Protonix daily, but they don’t seem to work anymore and the side effects of taking that long term are really bad like osteoporosis. I am desperately looking for something natural that can really help me. I have read about the Apple cider vinegar but my tummy won’t take it just the smell makes me sick. This is my 3rd day drinking Aloe-Vera juice mixed with apple juice and I haven’t seen a difference yet. I have been eating apples but they seem to cause more acid, although they say that apples are natural antacids.
I am looking for natural remedies because I hope to feel better and maybe to cure it, and it’s been SEVERE since October. I have also made some changes on my diet, no spices and more vegetables. I have an appointment with my GI but it’s by the end of January. Please help, any suggestions?
Thank you.

I’m current 14 years old. I stand at 5′8" and I’m about 112lbs. Recently I’ve been getting heartburn almost every time I eat. I have a pretty healthy diet and only 13% of my body mass is fat. Why do I get heartburn so much, What causes it, How can I get rid of it?
@Ganja420, go back to high school and get your GED before giving anyone dumb advice like that.
