What can I expect from here? I’m taking Nexium and Zelnorm and have been put on a high fiber diet. With the medications and the diet, will I start feeling normal soon?
I’ve been keeping the food diary, but I can’t find any triggers. Right now I just feel tired and have a constant pain in my upper right abdominal area.

I have had nonstop heartburn for 3 weeks. I remember having heartburn as a child, and I used to get it at night sometimes. A year ago I was diagnosed with GERD and I was diagnosed with IBS about 5 years ago. I never had heartburn like this before, I’m trying to eat a very strict diet to get rid of it but nothing helps. I’m trying a gluten free / lactose free / low fat diet with no sucess after 4 days. I feel that I need to get a full scope from my mouth to my *ss to see if there is a problem like a tumor or something more serious. I have had some strange symptoms within the last year including: a constant need to clear my throat of mucus, some difficulty swallowing foods (they feel stuck as they go down), coughing up mucus and food after swallowing it and breathing problems or shortness of breath at night. I get very little sleep because of this and this new onset of heartburn that won’t go away has made me paranoid that something is seriously wrong. I went the the emerge, and I feel the resident doc didn’t take me seriously, he prescribed me some proton pump inhibitors for the stomache acid, but after 2 days, still no success with them. Heartburn is still constant, getting worse at night. I’m starting to thing there is something blocking up my bowels and acide is stuck into my stomach, as I have pain and bloating in all of my abdomen as well. At this point, I don’t know what else to do as the docs don’t find it very serious and everything I’m doing doesn’t seem to help as it is getting worse. Is there somewhere a Canadian citizen can go for private healthcare in order to overt the lack of responsiveness in the public system??? I beleive it would prove beneficial for a doc to perform a gastroscope of my digestive system and see what the hell is going on. Anyone know where I can get this done?

Hey it seems like no matter what I eat, how much I eat, when I eat, I always have heartburn. What foods tend to trigger it and what can I do to help it?

What are some meals, snacks, foods that don’t give you heartburn? I’m just curious.

So me and my boyfriend been sleeping together for awhile now without using any protection and like 3 weeks ago I’ve had this recent onset of nausea and heartburn the nausea has let up some but the heartburn hasnt everything I eat or drink I get it and I’ve never had heartburn this bad or for this long Idk what its from I seem to be always tired and needing to go to the bathroom alot and when I get up I feel dizzy & I took a test a week ago & it was negative & the nausea & heartburn have just came on all of a sudden I switched up my diet but it seems everything triggers it.
It’s just wierd to me how all of a sudden I develop this acid reflux and I’ve never had it before or this bad of a problem with heartburn.

I need to know because I obviously don’t want to have one forever. I take nexium and am soon switching to Kapidex for my GERD. Is there any chance these types of hernias go away with weight loss and such?

I asked this in another subject area as well!
How do I ease myself into a more Ovo-Vegetarian based diet?
I am a 22 year old college student who is active but still suffers from weight fluctuation. I also get run down easily, and suffer from heartburn easily. How can I make this transition in a way that isn’t drastic, but will benefit my health, and help me in the long run.
I just want to be healthy.
I would love input from people who have done the same and it has worked for them, and people who can give good advice.
Also easy starter recipes would be great too!!
