My sister-in-law is pregnant. She has horrible heartburn. She has tried TUMS and all of the other medications that she can take while pregnant. Anyone have any home remedies that are safe to use during pregnacy?

Blanched almonds! They are good for you and they really do stop the heartburn! When I was pregnant (many years ago) I kept a package next to my bed and in my purse at all times. I ate a hand full anytime I had heartburn – day or night. Maybe someone else who reads this can explain why it works – all I know is it does. :}
Baking soda and water!!!! Mother of three, and it helped me every time!!
I have been very happy with Pepcid Complete. That is a chewable tablet like Tums, but works much better.
She should also watch what she eats. Even things like tomatoes or citrus fruits can cause trouble.
I also suggest sleeping with the head elevated and drinking more water than normal.
Avoid grease and I mean all grease. Avoid all spicy foods. Try to drink milk or cream. She may need to sleep sitting up. I had hearburn sooo bad during all my pregnancies. I spent the last month of my last pregnancy sleeping sitting on the couch.
Unfortuantly the only thing that will get rid of the heartburn is giving birth. Sorry Just tell her to keep drinking lots of cold milk.

The most recent relevant info..
Teaspoon of vinegar — I think it was apple vinegar. I saw it on a natural remedy infomercial.
zantac75 or pepcid complete
Andrews antacid tablets… i use to live on then
Pepcid complete
Sounds like it wouldn’t work… but it does…. 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar (natural/organic is best) in a cup of hot water, sweetened with honey or splenda. I find this great for heartburn, found out by accident when i was drinking it for a cold and it stopped the heartburn too!
I used to be on prescription meds for heartburn and acid reflux. I started taking a new product, not sold in stores and I no longer take the prescription meds or any over the counter. It’s completely safe. All natural and organic.
