Does anyone know if GERD affects other body systems besides the digestive?

Every website I go to says it affects the digestive system and esophagus. I’m doing a project where I need to know the affects diseases have on other systems. Please Help.

GERD can affect pulmonary system causing chronic cough,asthma,bronchitis and fibrosis. also dental problem, causing tooth erosion
Well, GERD can increase the risk of oesophageal cancer which can spread and become a systemic problem. Also, in theory, repeated stress on the oesphagus from the acid could cause a tear in which the acid could leak out and affect other organs… in theory. Not 100% sure if this happens though
