Does this sound at all like GERD?

Coughing after waking up, a productive cough. Difficulty breathing and tightness in the chest for the first half hour or so after waking. Symptoms clearly better after using Inhaler prescribed by doctor for Asthma.
Occasional heartburn and a feeling like something is coming up or stuck in the throat area.

It could be. My dad recently had an operation for severe GERD. He was on tablets 3x a day to cope with the reflux and whenever he ate anything he got painful heartburn. He didn’t have any difficulty breathing after waking up though.
Did you get bad heartburn/reflux when you were pregnant? I know if you were it makes you more susceptible to GERD.
If you do think you’ve got it, please go and see your dr. It’s a horrible condition that needs to be fixed sooner rather than later if you do have it.

Yeah sounds likek it. I get that with mine. Word to the wise, go get meds. for it now so it doesn’t get out of control. I have a hiatal hernia with mine
