What kinds of foods do you cut back on, or avoid all together, and beverages, because if you have these items, it will make your condition worse, or cause you to have heart burn or acid reflux?
Do any of you also find if you eat too much, you will also spend the day having gas?
Thanks for your input! ![]()

Pizza is my favorite food and also my worse enemy, but all the ones that others have mention set’s mine off, but pizza usually send me to the ER for a cock tail to get it stopped. . Bless you sweetie. hate you have this.
I have acid reflux, and there are many drinks & foods that can cause pain. It’s really anything sour when it comes to drinking. For example, lemonade is really bad if you have alot of it. Also, spicy foods can be bad also. Stay away from things with alot of pepper.
NOTE: I USED TO TAKE NEXIUM, BUT IT WORSENED MY ACID REFLUX. I RECOMMEND USING "PAPAYA ENZYME". IT WORKS GREAT, AND IT CAN BE FOUND IN ANY VITAMIN STORE.
Red wine, spirits, beer, garlic, spicy foods, white bread and eating red meat late evening.
In HEARTBURN AVOID:
- anything ACIDIC: fruits, fruit juices, vitamin C, soda, wine vinegar
- any ALCOHOL, beer, wine, distilled beverages , all.
- aspirins and all drugs denoted as NSAIDS (Non-Steroid-Anti-Inflammatory DrugS)
In BLOATING AVOID:
- Fiber-rich foods: fruits and raw vegetables, also beans, peas
- SUGAR (sweets..) and foods which mainly contain STARCH: potatoes, pasta, wheat products, also milk
- BEER (contains maltose, which is rapidly broken down by intestinal Bacteria)
Overeating causes "heavy stomach" after the meal, but this is not bloating. If such a meal contains a lot of sugar, you can expect bloating, which means gas within intestine.
If you have acid reflux + bloating + burping, go and have a BREATH TEST for Helycobacter infection of your stomach. It’s really common. If positive, you get antibiotics for 1-2 weeks what usually helps.
citric fruits. spicy food, cheese, milk, all type of juices. too much water on an empty stomach. tomatoes, cucumber. mash potatoes thats all ive figured out the moment
I find that onions or anything greasy will bring it on for me. Spicy food will also do a number on me. I don’t drink soda. and nothing else that hurts me. I only eat til I am satisfied. I don’t over eat, so the helps too. I don’t have any problem with anything I drink. So I can rule that out. That’s about all I can think of. Good luck hon. Hope this helps.
dont drink coke, only juice [non-acidic juice], dont eat anything with acid or spicy.
Spicey food will and food with a lot of acid in it.
