GERD, Acid Reflux with NO heartburn?
Hello. I have been having a lot of troubles lately with headaches (that’s another story) and on and off stomach problems. I would be nauseous for a week or so, eating just bland foods, then a week later, I’d be fine … a few weeks later the nausea would come back, etc. I’m finally going to see a GI (hopefully I can make an appt soon) but I’m curious what this could be? Sometimes I get a burning, gnawing pain in my stomach, but I thought heartburn was felt in your chest so I don’t think it’s heartburn? Could Acid Reflux or GERD or maybe an ulcer be causing on and off nausea? Thanks.

Heartburn/Acid Reflux can be felt in many places.
Sometimes its buring in my stomach, other times its further up in my chest or in the back of my throat.
If you had an Ulcer, you would be having more pain when u eat and possibly blook in your stool.
Nausea just seems to acompany most stomach/digestive issues.
Do you eat many fatty/spicy foods?
Are you over weight?
Do you eat alot of bread or gluten?
These are all things you need to ask yourself.
From what i have read and experienced, doctors are not always correct or even know what is going on.
Many people self diagnose.
I suggest doing more reasearch on the net to find out more.
I mean Acid Reflux/IBS/Gluten/Wheat intolerance are all so similar and often do not having specific test to diagnose.
You can try elimination diets.
I HIGHLY suggest keeping a food diary and making not of when and how you feel sick daily.
That can give some clues.

well i was dx via scope with severe gastritis hiatle hernia and hyperplastic polyp benign acted like you but dumping everything ,on zantac 150 mg metamucil capsules walmart, on a gf menu no wheat no gluten so you eat rice corn oats for week no breads no pastas no rye no msg soups have wheat msg gluten so read broth boxes to make soup, rice cakes are good, grits oatmeal, fritos rice crispy treats granola bars no wheat sun valley i found , cheeze puffs potato chip , fruits vegs salads are good dressing may have wheat so i’m better
