How can I get rid of heartburn without medicine?

My heartburn recently came back. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night throwing up some stomach acid. What should I cut out of my diet to solve this problem? I know you don’t need medicine, because my heartburn has gone away before.
Instead of saying what should I cut out, maybe I should say "What should I avoid?"

hi there, not sure what you should get rid of in your diet, but try taking a big glass of warm milk before bed, it worked for me only when i was pregnant as i only had heartburn when i carried my last baby..
hope this helps… let me know too
Avoid tomatoes, citrus, and any acidic foods.
Try taking Tums before you go to bed.
grenadineeeee
It sounds nasty but if you mix baking soda with water and drink it, your heartburn will go away. Also cut out acidic foods.
i had heartburn forever,in december,i got rid of most spices,,all fried food…zero chocolate….haven’t even needed a tum since then….
Try apple cider vinegar; a friend with acid reflux uses it and it put a stop to his.
You might be drinking too much fluids, if you have a drink beside you at night don’t.
Fizzy drinks give you heartburn, can’t really tell you what to cut from your diet if I don’t know what’s on it in the first place
peppermint tea is meant to help with heartburn, and not eating after about 8pm so your tummy has chance to digest food before you go to sleep..
Ginger. You can buy it health food stores.
I once went through a body detox and found after that some foods, especially green peppers which I liked but had started to give me heartburn, no longer did. I guess it makes sense, if our body’s are full of something it is going to try to tell us in some form.
