How often do you get heartburn?

I am 12 weeks pregnant with twins and eating rather healthy but I get constant heartburn, even on an empty stomach or after a small meal! A glass of milk or a piece of fruit is enough to give me heartburn! I don’t eat within 3 hours of going to bed and still I wake up several times during the night with heartburn.
I am taking tums and only using one regular strength one at a time, but it is adding up to 10 a day and I am only just entering into the second trimester!

OH NO don’t drink MILK…that gets me every time.
Anything spicy would get me …which is obvious…but anything fatty…like cheese or milk.
I find that a Pepcid complete helped a hell of a lot better than the tums ever did because it has an acid reducer too and my doctor OK’d it for use during pregnancy.
Not eating will kill me too…always make sure you have crackers or something handy to ward if off.
Spicy, hungry, fatty – avoid these at all costs.
I was the same way when I was pregnant with my daughter. Have you asked your OBGYN if you can take Prilosec? I didn’t think I could take anything so I never bothered to ask. According to the older folks if you have alot of heartburn your babies will be born with head fulls of hair.
i am 28ish weeks, and i get heartburn almost every day. talk to your doctor; he may prescribe prevacid or aciplex or something. mine did, and it really helped. especially since you don’t want to exceed the max dosage on those chalky tabs.
I’m 10 weeks and I get heartburn when I eat, when I don’t eat, when I bend over, when I yawn, you name it! My doctor recommended the one tablet a day meds like prilosec and zantac because antacids can increase constipation.
every day doesn’t matter what i eat try gum that works for me sometimes
