How to cure chronic acquired heartburn?

I was eating chips and salsa in a restaurant a few years ago, and one larger chunk of tomato burned my throat and stomach on the way down. I have more or less had heartburn ever since. What can I do about it? I have tried Tums, fasting, and yogurt. Thanks.

Go to your local food store or department and ask someone to point you in the direction of a good enzyme. There are different enzymes for different things so it would be best to ask. The enzymes will restore the digestive balance to your stomach lining so that you don’t overproduce acid. I had the worst heartburn during pregnancy and enzymes were the only thing that took care of it. My daughter is 5 now, so I don’t remember which kind I took. Someone at the store should definitely be able to help you though.
