The real answer is you don’t have to stay away from any foods! The foods are not the problem. Worst case is that you may be suffering from a case of Hypochloridia, but most likely it is just a lack of stomach acid.
DO NOT TAKE ANTACIDS! They are very, very bad for you.
Pepcid, Protonics, Prilosec, Nexium, Tums, Mylanta, Maalox, Tagamet, and Zantac to name a few are incredibly bad for you. Drug companies spend millions of dollars successfully promoting this farce on the American public. Where is the FDA on this; not protecting the public!
Look at the side effects: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); easy or unusual bruising or bleeding; bleeding gums; irregular heartbeat; yellowing of the skin or eyes; or a rash; dizziness; headache; or diarrhea, nausea, or constipation. All of these so called side effects are a result of liver and or kidney being damaged from these drugs! Who was the person or thing that created the phrase, “side effects” anyway? These effects are a DIRECT result of using these drugs; there is nothing “side” about that.
First of all, heart burn or the word used by the marketing guru’s at all the drug companies and your local pharmacy is "acid in digestion" is made up to confuse you into believing what the drug companies want you to believe. This garbage not only doesn’t solve the basic problem, but it creates other problems in your body that you will need to go to the pharmacy and buy more drugs to fix. It is the first step in a cycle of illnesses that are created by antacids. It is really unbelievable.
To correctly understand the problem, you first have to understand how the body’s digestion works; something your doctor, pharmacy, or drug companies seem to neglect telling you. The stomach needs to be acidic to kill germs and break down food. Your digestion of Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc (all minerals essential to feed your body) can only be digested if your stomach is acidic at the time food is there. The Jejunum is the upper part of the duodenum that attaches to the stomach’s pyloric sphincter. When the acidic material enters this part of the duodenum after passing through the pyloric sphincter at the bottom of the stomach, the Calcium & Magnesium compete for absorption through the intestinal wall of the Jejunum, but if it is not acidic, no absorption takes place and you can become Calcium & Magnesium deficient, no matter how much calcium you eat or pills you take. Furthermore, if the material moving farther down the intestine is not acidic, your intestines will not produce an alkali that neutralizes the acidic mass and you will not absorb many other vitamins and minerals.
Antacids neutralize the stomach acid and create these problems to your digestion. The so called heart burn or acid indigestion is from rotting food that is fermenting and producing LACTIC ACID. The reason the food is rotting is because there is not enough stomach acid to cause it to break down. Just the opposite of what these ignorant people are telling you. As you age, your body produces less and less stomach acid. By the time you are 60 years old, you are producing about 23% of the stomach acid you did when you were 25 – 30 years old, and at 80 years old, you are only producing about 5% of the stomach acid you did when you were 25 – 30 years old. To make matters worse, we eat processed and cooked foods that are devoid of enzymes that help us preserve the stomach acid that re-methylates our cells. This shortens our lives about 30 years! We were designed to eat raw, uncooked foods. Additionally, the stomach acid kills the nano bacteria that has been proven to cause heart disease. Maybe someone should tell these doctors, drug companies, and pharmacies that 75% of all deaths in America are caused by heart disease each year and taking away the very thing that can kill this bacteria should not be something they recommend and sell.
There is an answer though. It is simple and inexpensive, unlike the damaging antacid garbage being peddled by people and companies that either are ignorant of how the body works, or they have a huge profit motive for selling and promoting something that creates a need for more and more drugs. By taking Betaine HCL and an activator with each meal, you give your body what it needs to breakdown the foods, digest your food so much better, and cause your body to actually utilize the Calcium, Magnesium, Zinc, and iron it needs as well as the other vitamins and minerals and most importantly, re-methylate your cells. I also suggest a digest enzyme with each meal to give your body what it is not getting in cooked foods.
It’s no wonder we have so much osteoporosis and other degenerative disease in the American culture with the way the drug companies spend millions on advertising and making billions on the very thing that is causing people to have to spend more billions on other drugs to try and fix the problems created by the antacids! Amazing. Just look at all the laxatives and drugs being sold because of all the toxic build up from rotting food that is sold due to these antacids. What a racket. And what is the FDA doing about it? Nothing.

Also, the antacids that are in tablet form contain many ingredients that suppress your immune system and prevent you from absorbing other nutrients. One of those ingredients, and there are many fillers and glues used as well as this one, is magnesium stearate. This is a trans fat and pills contain about 5% of this garbage. That is 5% of the total milligrams labeled! This excipient is there just to help manufacturers to make pills faster and release easier from their machines. This substance surrounds the particles of nutrients in a pill and inhibits the absorption by about 80%!
