I have heartburn nearly every day and I am 26. What could this be a sign of? Is it serious?

The first doctor said I probably just have asthma causing it, but what do you think? Why the heartburn? I avoid all spicy foods so it’s not that.

It sounds like you may have GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). The most common symptom is heartburn. If you’re experiencing heartburn on a daily basis, it seems very likely that you have GERD. Untreated, it can create serious health issues. You should see a doctor (probably not the one you already have seen) and ask about GERD.
it will most likely be your diet. What is it that you eat on daily basis?
also, you may be a quick eater…this can also cause heartburn. Eat your food slowly, and watch what you eat….change your diet if need be. If that fails, see a doctor for sure.
