Should I visit a doctor for GERD after ten years?

I haven’t had an endoscopy done in ten years and I haven’t taken any medicine for my acid reflux disease in ten years. Should I even bother going back to a doctor for it? And why?

Yes! You could have esophagus cancer! I had GERD and had a endoscopy. After no results with medicine and REFUSING to give up coffee I didn’t get any better. Stopped the coffee cold turkey and all symptoms went away. I don’t even take PPI medicine anymore. If your a caffeine addict, Stop it and you will get better.
Yes. untreated GERD can lead to esophageal cancer. You should at least get checked out.
