signs of a stomach ulcer? pain like heartburn and gas? usually comes after spicy foods and alcohol.?

my boyfriend gets these pains a lot of times after eating spicy foods or when he drinks alcohol. usually Tums takes the pain away. could this be an ulcer or maybe irritable bowel syndrome?

Could be an ulcer but could also be gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Either way he needs to see a doctor to manage it. You can start him on a 2 week course of over the counter Prilosec (omeprazole) though. Omeprazole is WAY better than tums, and used to be a prescription only medication for ulcers.
Ulcer– they are curable go see your Dr and a course of antibiotics will set him right again.
