has anyone else experiencing vomiting due to heartburn in late pregnancy? due in two days, experienced this for the first time about 3 weeks ago and again last night. it is accompanied by diarrhea too… i assume its normal because of the pressure on my stomach from the baby but if anyone has any tips on how to remedy this problem it would be helpful.

WOW YOU ARE GONNA HAVE THAT BABY SOON!!!!! DIARRHEA ALWAYS SIGNALS THAT THE BODY IS CLEANSING ITSELF TO DELIVER! CONGRATS! HEARTBURN IS VERY COMMON THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PREGNANCY AND YES, IT CONTRIBUTES LARGELY TO VOMITING. YOU ARE PERFECTLY NORMAL. THE ONLY ADVICE I CAN GIVE YOU IS TO EAT SMALLER MEALS,, DONT DRINK ANY WATER OR FLUIDS BEFORE YOU LAY DOWN AND TAKE SOME TUMS. FOR THE DIARRHEA, YOU CAN TAKE IMODIUM, BUT IT WILL CLEAR ON IT’S OWN. I EXPERIENCED THIS WITH BOTH CHILDREN…YOU ARE GONNA BE FINE! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND BABY!
Totally normal. I had heartburn so bad I ate a whole bottle of tums in a month. Just hang in there you will get through it.
i had the same is realy normal i bet youre have a girl cause thats all i did with mine good luck with the baby and drink gavason it realy helps and milk it doesnt burn so much.
It’s totally normal and since you’re so late in the pregnancy there’s not too much you can do. Drink LOTS of water to keep hydrated because of the diahrea and try propping your pillows a little higher at night (not that you’re sleeping much anyway.) Other than that, don’t worry honey, it’ll all be over soon and you’ll have an adorable little baby to hug and kiss and love!! Congrats and good luck!
Yes, it’s the worst. I’m over 37 weeks and I’ve had horrible heartburn to the point where I have thrown up. Lately it’s been getting a little better because I’ve been taking medicine for it. My doctor told me that I can take Zantac and I practically live off of Tums. You should ask your doctor what kinds of medicine they recommend for you. I haven’t been experiencing the diarrhea. I was told in class that if you start having diarrhea it could be your system’s way of cleaning itself out before labor starts. Might be getting close!
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and call your doctor so that you can get some relief from the heartburn. I’m with ya!
It sounds like your getting ready to deliver. I also had the same symptoms that you are describing and my Dr. told me to drink COKE and eat plain potato chips………..and it helped settle my stomach!! Not sure if it will help for you or not, but can’t hurt to try. Good luck and congrats!
Tums did absolutely nothing for me but i found that when i drank sprite it did more than the tums did. I also found that i get heartburn more often when im not very active. (Being on bedrest cant really help that). I heard that it goes away after you give birth so you’re almost there anyways. Congratulations.
This has happened to me too…I took tums as often as I could and drank either cold milk or ice water to cool the heartburn and I walked around in circles..sometimes walking after drinking a glass of cool liquid helps you to release some of that acid! Good Luck!
It is nromal to have heartburn or acid reflux. I lived on Tums the whole last trimester of my pregnacy both times. They say it means the baby will have a head full of hair but both of mine were bald as a bat.
