I am also a teen with acid reflux and lactose intolerance so I feel for you. Here are some of my favorite foods that I eat a lot.
Pretzels (Favorite: Pretzel Goldfish)
Granola Bars (Quaker Chewy Bars)
Apples
Bananas
Peanut Butter
Almonds
Ice Pops / sorbet
Even if you haven’t been diagnosed with lactose intolerance try taking a lactaid pill (no prescription required) right as you start to eat dairy, it might help. Also if you are going to treat yourself to spicy food the best medicine after the fact for bad heartburn, I have found is Zantac
Well you can eat spicy food just drink water and baking soda together, only like a pinch.
My husband has acid reflux really bad and he takes a pepcid ac every morning. It helps him to eat anything he wants. Have you tried taking any medications for it?
I don’t think baby food is the answer (this is in newborns????)
Have you tried soy, rice or almond milk? Also, the doctor can probably give you medicine to take before eating that can help coat the stomach first (there are many over the counter ones, but you should ask first given your age and fact you are probably lactose intolerant) Then you could eat some spicy foods, just don’t go overboard on the hot sauce!
Several things cause reflux. A major one is eating food before you have properly digested the previous meal. Okay, you’ve just had breakfast or lunch or whatever. A main meal. Then half an hour later you pop something into your mouth.Your stomach digests in stages, like stage one, stage two and so on. It starts with swallowed food. So what’s it gonna do if it’s up to stage three with your big meal and you swallow something new? Should it start back at stage one or keep going? The new stuff is behind the eight ball and doesn’t get processed properly. Poor old stomach gets really confused. Hence acid boiling up your food pipe.
The whole thing is made worse if you eat HOT spicy food. Some of us just aren’t made top eat that stuff. So don’t.
Know yourself and look after your best friend. Yeah, that thing you’re walking round in. Your body tells you when you make mistakes. Listen and it will support you in all that you want to do in life.
Enjoy your life.
if your acid reflux is bad, I would suggest medication for it first instead of limiting your diet…
