Heartburn Gerd Causes, Symptoms & Treatments Questions
The myth that ulcers are diet related or manageable by diet has long ago been debunked. Milk, though it does give temporary relief also cause rebound acid production. Most ulcers are linked to infection with the organism helicobacter pylori, and treatment is eradication therapy. Though reflux, which causes heartburn is linked to obesity it is not helped by dietary changes per se, though weight loss and not taking large meals does help to reduce the problem mechanically, the usual management is acid reduction using PPIs, proton pump inhibitors.
dairy products like milk
Raw sauerkraut is the number 1 food for stomach ailments. Buy the stuff that’s packed in water and salt (not wine) and rinse it to remove some of the salt. Chilled, it’s like a really nice salad. Drink water with fresh lemon. Don’t consume products with sugar (harmful bacteria thrive on sugar), esp. soft drinks. Get some good quality probiotics and a multi digestive enzyme at your health food store. You should be feeling better after a couple of weeks (maybe sooner). Keep this regimen up for a month. Be sensible about your nutrition — choose freshly prepared foods/learn to cook.
Things that mess up your stomach — antibiotics, sugar, antacids.
the best is called sodium bicarbonate… or baking soda.
you can check its pharmacology online. my doctor told me this but he hinted in a way that he’s not suppose to tell me it.
also… stop drinking the soda..they make your body slightly more acidic which contributes.
change your diet….eat smaller meals but more often in one day….like 5 times.
You might want to drink a nice hot cup of Peppermint Tea for your heartburn.
Fresh peppermint or the peppermint tea is good.
Bicarb soda can give a temporary relieve as well.
And the individual recommending proton pump inhibitors on the Alt/Med forum should be prosecuted.
