tums, rolaids, generic antacids. I’ve been taking an average of about 8/day – most of them at night. If you are looking for anything else, ask your doctor to see what he/she recommends.
Good luck!
Tum, tum, tum, tum , TUMS!!!! and they’re good for calcium too! I keep a bottle next to my bed at night, lol..
i wish i knew of something. I live off tums.
i believe mylanta is safe but you can always call the doctors office and ask for different things to take.
My docs told me pretty much anything is safe for heartburn. I asked her about it and she gave me a script for Zantac 150mg to take twice a day.
Non-medicinal – try eating an apple or visit your local health food store for some papaya extract tablets. They both work wonders!
Maalox and Mylanta work. I had to take them a few times. Tums were my best friend. I went through so many bottles during my pregnancy!
My doctor said TUMS are a huge no no.
Mylanta is what she said was the best for pregnant women.
I asked last week because I’ve been going nuts with this heartburn! lol
no thats about it for over the counters. honestly there isnt much u can do for heart burn if those things arent working. if its so sever u can call up your doctor and see if maybe he can prescribe u something
milk…..works wonders for me x
you shouldn’t take anything such as:drugs[medicine]. Because it can harm your baby. You should see your doctor.
Well tums of course is always your friend during pregnancy but also papaya extracts (can be found at any vitamin store) you take it right after meals it keeps it to a minimum and then tums for the break through painful stuff.
There is a morning sickness pill my doc gave me that also helps heartburn not sure if they will give it to you for just that without puking your guts out but its called reglan and it helps me take my vitamins without throwing them up as well as mexican food etc without heartburn making me cry later.
Stay away from caffinated drinks, carbonated drinks and for some reason not sure if this is just me but nestle chocolate (not other chocolates) gives me the worst heartburn lol:)
dried fruits (apricots), ginger pills, dry toast. Nausea and morning sickness will go away at about 12 weeks, but the heartburn lasts for the whole pregnancy unfortunately. Tums are lifesavers, but stay away from acidic foods like red (marinara) sauce, fried foods, and heavy things like gravy. Eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large meals. Good luck, you will feel much better in about three weeks hopefully. The second trimester is a glorious and wonderful time for the majority of women.
My Dr. gave me a list of safe medications to take during pregnancy and for heartburn it lists Maalox, Mylanta, Pepcid and Tums.
no clue i lived off of tums.try drinkin milk
The only thing my doctor told me I could take is tums
the doctor gave me something similar to gaviscon but pineapple is supposed to help!
my OB okayed pepcid… tums just wasnt doing it for me and i know i was taking more than you are supposed to, the pepcid taken twice a day works wonderful, and i am stll allowed an occasional tums if heart burn does still break through
Pepcid AC is safe or the store brand version of it is fine as well. My doctor recommends it. Just follow the dosing on the package and you should be fine. So try that for a while. If it gets much worse you can ask your doctor for a prescription. With my first pregnancy, Pepcid helped for awhile. Then after 27 weeks it got too bad and I was having bad heartburn all the time. So my doctor put me on Protonix. So there are over the counter medicines and prescriptions that are fine for pregnant woman. I am sure one will work for you.
Ohhhh, Maalox!!!!!
I loved Maalox while I was pregnant because it was the only thing that helped with that awful acid and burping and gas pain.
Ofcourse, it also helped with the constipation and that was a big plus!
Good luck and "Happy Baby!"
Hi a natural remedy would be milk. Preferably semi skimmed or whole milk. Or if you dont like milk then try gaviscon either the liquid or tablet form will be good enough.
Gaviscon, but not the syrup, just because it’s DISGUSTING! hehe try the gaviscon tablets, so much easier to take!
Gaviscon, says on the bottle it’s fine during pregnancy. You could also try having a cup of peppermint tea after your meals, which helped me. Try to avoid fizzy drinks, spicy foods and anything too fatty. Some people find that avoiding cheese helps. Also, make sure you eat a good 2 1/2-3 hours before you go to bed to give your body chance to digest your meal before you lay down
my doctor told me to take tums…but SUPRISE SUPRISE it didn’t work. The only thing that I found that worked for me were pink peppermints. I ate bags of them. They settled my tummy, took away morning sickness and heartburn. I know the sugar wasn’t good, but it sure helped me.
TUMS ARE THE BEST!!! Carry them with you always!!!!!!!! Buy the biggest container! 10 weeks and heartbearn already??? Yeah buy the biggest container you’re gonna need em!
Tums. That’s pretty much the only thing you can take. You can also try drinking some milk or eating bland things like saltines or a piece of bread. Stay away from things like sauces and spices foods for now. If you see your doctor he/she might be able to perscribe you something.
Milk and Tums work for me!!
tums, mylanta, maalox, riopan, titralac, and gaviscon. there are also some that the doctor can prescribe that are safe for the baby if these don’t work. My favorite is mylanta or maalox. tums get stuck in your teeth and I hate the taste and the other 3 are I’ve never heard of but they are on the list.
