I got drunk last night and when i got in and crawled into bed i slept on my stomach and woke up about 2 hours later with the most painful heartburn ever and a burning sensation in my throat and mouth and i now have a sore ulcer in my mouth.
Was it just a normal acid reflux or could this be serious because i’ve never had such a painful acid reflux in the past. I didn’t vomit or anything.

No reflux event is ‘normal’. What you have done is inflamed the lining of your stomach and the stomach has reacted by shutting the Pyloric sphincter thereby holding the food/drink back so as not to harm the Duodenum and cause an ulcer. The stomach contents will have gassed up and overcome the ability of your Cardiac sphincter to stay closed allowing the highly acidic contents to flow back up the Oesophagus.
You need an indigestion remedy with an alginate in it like Gaviscon or Remegel, possibly Windeeze (anything with Simethicone) to stop any bloating as well.
Avoid binge drinking for a while. Consult your doctor if the condition remains problematic or if you think this is Gastritis now. They would give you Omeprazole and/or Sucralfate to help treat it and if that didn’t work then check for H. pylori bacteria and order an endoscopy to see whats what with any remaining soreness.
Acid reflux is caused by eating and then laying down before the food has digested. The disease usually occurs in those who drink alcohol and then eat a lot then lay down. This unhealthy habit gradually loosens the cardiac sphincter (cartilage flap that prevents food and beverage from going back into the esophagus (throat). This is why we should have our last meal near 5 or 6pm then go to bed at 9 or 10pm.
………. ……….. …………..
Acid Reflux disease can also be caused by a hiatal hernia where the top of the stomach baloons up towards the esophagus, thus the cardiac sphincter does not fully cover the opening from the stomach to the esophagus……permitting the acids in the stomach to retrograde into the throat.
……….. ……….. …………..
The lining of the stomach is strong enough to handle the acids in the stomach…..which, by the way, is equal to that of battery acid. The lining of the esophagus, on the other hand, cannot tollerate this stomach acid. That is why the burning feels so severe. This acid in the throat can eventually wear away the lining and lead to throat cancer and other diseases. It is imperative that you routinely take medicine for your acid reflux to get this under control.

Pepcid, Prilosec ………….all the way to aciphex (most potent, expensive $160 month for 30 pills, will work if the others dont).
………… ………… ………..
Raise your bed….books under bed-legs of head portion. Keep "Tums 1000" nearby if you are not on pills yet. Drink plenty of water. Avoid bread, high starch, chocolate, caffeine and spicey foods.
……….. …………… …………..
If it gets really bad…..like how you just described how you felt……you can go to the ER and they will give you a cocktail that will immediately numb your whole throat for awhile.

Happy New Year!!!!
I think it just depends on what you drink and how much you drink.
Try to remember what you drank and not drink it again, because its highly uncomfortable.
Good Luck, Hope that helps!
