I have heartburn at 36 weeks and I really want to avoid medication. What foods can help? What foods should I avoid?

Avoid spicy food, avoid large meals, acidic foods.
Try drinking a small cup of milk to help calm down the heart burn.
Don’t eat heavy foods, make sure to eat smaller frequent meals instead of large meals, don’t eat spicy foods. Milk helps some people but I know for me it just makes matters much much worse, just sits to heavy on my stomach.
Glass of milk, Bi carbonate soda in a little water. I chewed on fruit tingles which is a lollie some friends chewed musk lollies.
dairy products. nows a time to have a milkshake without the guilt:)
A waitress gave me Tangasura bitters. Worked wonders! tasted bitter
Like everyone says, eat small, frequent meals and sip liquids
My grandmother had me take a drink of pickle juice. I thought she was nuts, but it works and my husband still uses her trick. For other people, milk helps. A spoonful of ice cream does the trick as well.
Avoid spicy foods, of course. But greasy, oily foods cause it as well.
Best wishes to you, and congrats!
I respect you for wanting to avoid medication but dude, I tried everything and the OTC are the only thing that helped and not to sound cliche but I never had a problem and had a healthy baby. I tried all the crazy tricks you read about and some even seemed to worsen it (the vinegar!) and milk did nothing. My advice is that if it’s keeping you up at night, as mine did, it’s better for the baby (in my opinion) to take a small dose of something (i think my doc recommended prilosec) and get some rest than to stay awake half the night suffering. I do hope something natural works for you though, of course, and best luck. It’s brutal, I know. Just trying to help you feel less guilty if you end up needing to take something.
Anything with calcium, like milk.
TUMS are great for this condition.
Also, try anything with natural spearmint, or even chew spearmint leaves.
Mix some Ovaltine with the milk. It has iron and the calcium. It will take care of that sweet tooth fix too!
Good luck with the baby.
i had the worst heartburn aswell and i found that no foods helped it, but you could drink soda water coz it has the bubbles in it which can bring up some gas, i found that rich foods and fatty foods like chocolate and fried foods made it worse, but some of those medications are perfectly safe, i tried gaviscon but it tasted revolting so i only had it once
i have suffered from severe heart burn since week 16 and i mean severe
nothing works well i drink a glass of milk as often as i can to slow it down a little, but other then that try quickeze
