What have you found works well to get rid of heartburn and nausea during pregnancy?
I am 3 months pregnant with my second child. My doctor is on vacation for another 2 weeks, so I can’t ask him this… I need something to help me out with heartburn and nausea. I have AWFUL heartburn and nausea all day long. It doesn’t matter what I eat, how I sleep, what I drink.. I drink water and I get heartburn. I have some candied ginger I chew on that slightly helps the nausea, but not the heartburn, and TUMS and ROLAIDS only help the heartburn for a short time… I obviously need something safe for pregnancy and hopefully a food or something that will help… thanks

Ask your doctor about taking Prilosec or something similar, they allowed me to do it in the second trimester if I remember correctly, The nausea should be going away any day now. I was a big fan of rice cakes and ritz crackers. Also, try a small amount of caffeine free Pepsi or Coke.
Maalox
I am about 5 months preg and have had heartburn for about 2 months now. It helps me if I drink some warm water and lie on my left side. Lying on my right side and lying down imm after a meal usually makes my heartburn worse. Also try to eat 6 small meals through the day, instead of 3 large meals. I also eat lots of yoghurt and try to drink lots of water. I try to avoid TUMS etc, cuz relief is short.
I have acid reflux. I drink water or eat ice cream.
When I was pregnant with my daughter I had the same problem. I kept popping the tums and the heartburn never gave up. My doctor told me to stop taking Tums or rolaids. It helped. Never got it back just by taking nothing.
You can use Gravol.
I went to the docs because of nausea during pregnancy, and was prescribed a fifty dollar prescription, only to have the pharmacist tell me that it was basically Gravol, but more costly.
Take some Gravol gel capsules. Check with the pharmacist or call a local nursing hot line to be sure it’s safe. Good Luck!
suck on some brach peppermint.
try mylanta my wife did and it worked
try taking your prenatal vitamin at night if you’re not already. the increased iron in it can make you nausous but you don’t notice it as much if you are already asleep. i sucked on sour candy alot too and that helped ok. basically if you are going to have morning sickness, you just are. i had it from the time i woke up until i went to sleep at night for three months, then i woke up one morning and was fine and never had it again. hopefully you will be like that too. good luck
They gave me pepcid AC in the hospital it was great nothing else worked for me, a nurse told me that if you have a lot of heartburn te baby will have a lot of hair, for nausea try B6 vitamins with your prenetal vitamins.
Hope you feel better soon and congratulations
