Honey, believe me, you will know when you have heartburn. It is like a nasty, acidic taste that wells up in your throat. It is very unpleasant. You can mix a teaspoon full of baking soda with tepid water (straight from the tap) and it will give you relief for quite a while. Now, if you have high blood pressure, I would suggest seeing a doctor. If you are pregnant, baking soda may be too much salt as with high blood pressure. It could be something serious if you have it all the time. Go to the doctor. Please? Good luck.
It is a burning sensation in your throat or lower
esophagus. Typically after eating spicy foods.
Caused by acid being slug up from the stomach
up into the esophagus, which is the tube the food travels too,
past the throat and into the stomach.
Antacids can help most. They neutralize the acid. Some have to take prilosec, and over the counter drug that reduces the acid making process in the first place. Called a proton pump
inhibitor. Me, I had to have surgery !
These are the most commonly experienced symptoms of heartburn
A burning feeling starts in the chest just behind the breastbone (the sternum) that occurs after eating and can last a few minutes to several hours
Lying down and bending over often makes symptoms worse.
Symptoms are often made worse by eating food
Burning in the throat
Sour or bitter taste in the mouth
Swallowing can be difficult
Belching
Chronic coughing
Hoarseness
Loss of voice for no apparent reason
Wheezing or other asthma-like symptoms
An antacid usually provides relief
If an infant spits up or throws up almost every time he eats and seems fussy, the infant may have gastric reflux
Symptoms of heartburn are often mistaken for signs of a heart attack. Pain from a heart condition is usually made worse by physical activity, but heartburn is not usually caused by physical activity. However, if you think you are having a heart attack, or you’re not sure, it’s important that you go to the emergency room immediately.

heartburn can go from a burning sensation in the middle of your chest, to an absolute piercing pain (usually if you have an acid reflux related complication) but symptoms very from person to person. Try otc’s to help first. If you get no relief from otc acid pills, try liquids (liquids are my preference anyway) like pepto-bismol or Gaviscon. If still no relief, see your doc. You may have something more serious like G.E.R.D.
heart burn symptoms are just like the name, burning in the heart area. actually more in the middle of your chest, you may feel like you have to burp. if you take something and it doesn’t go away within an hour go to the emergency room. don’t play around with symptoms.
heartburn and heart attacks mimic the same symptoms. women and men have different symptoms.
a friend of mine thought she had heartburn and is was really a heart attack. i was too late for her.
Sometimes it feels like your having a heart attack, you can’t hardly breathe or even move the pain is so bad in your chest.
Sometime it’s acid reflux where you burp up your food and it sits in your throat and burns.
Either of these symptoms you should go see a Dr. for, because there are different medications he can prescribe.
What are heartburn symptoms?
Belching, hot feeling in your chest, and throat, sour stomach.
Try some Rolaids, Peto etc.
Be sure it is heartburn that you are experiencing, if it does not subside within a day or two, I would consult a physician.
You could have other conditions that resemble heartburn.
Stay away from spicy foods!
Hope you feel better soon!
IF U DONT KNOW IF ITS HEATBURN PLEASE SEE YOUR DOCTOR IN JANUARY MY DAD THOUGHT HE HAD HEATBURN AND HE ENDED UP DYING BECASUE HE HAD A HEARTACK INSTEAD OF HEART BURN. GOOD LUCK!
