what is this called and what is the treatment?

i know a friend when he is on his training he got a feeling like when it burns from inside you and comes to your lungs?
so what is this called? is this heartburn?
what is the treatment of it?

Well, heartburn has nothing to do with your heart or lungs. Heartburn is called acid reflux and it happens when the acid from your stomach leaks up into your esophagus and burns it. You esophagus is the tube your food goes down when you eat. To help stop the burn, some people take things like TUMS that neutralizes the acid and stops the burn. Other people who have heartburn constantly, take other things like Zantac or Pepcid.
If your friend doesn’t know if it’s heartburn or not, then have him take a couple TUMS next time it happens. If it’s heartburn, the pain / burn will stop immediately.
I didn’t know about the burning lungs as April V describes. Very interesting.

If he was training in really cold weather it gives me a burning sensation in my lungs. Like when I am running and breath the cold air it burns.
