My brother complained of heartburn but wouldn't go to the dr. He ended up almost dying due to a rupture that was slowly bleeding him to death. But if you want to take your chances, I have tried all the prescriptions and still get the best results with store brand acid reducers. They're usually ranitidine or famotidine. I went thru pain for the longest time then I went to the doctor they told me to get Zantac 150mg. and that cleared it up. The chalky meds dont work for a long time. In the meantime, when you lay down prop a pillow under you so that your uppper torso is slightly up.Like half way sitting up.
